Since his teenage years, the owner and founder of DBY, Dirk Streefkerk, has had a passion for gardening and learning about everything related to the field of Horticulture. Leaving school in 1991, he pursued his dream by gaining hands-on & technical experience in every facet of horticulture. This allowed him to work his way up in the industry, handling various landscaping, gardening, and agricultural projects. The journey led Dirk to establish his landscaping construction and maintenance company, Dirk’s Backyard.
With consistent hard work and unwavering dedication, Dirk’s company is establishing a solid reputation as one of Sydney’s leading landscape and gardening companies for builders, developers, and residential clients. The company’s high quality and standard of services provided won Dirk a loyal customer base of satisfied clients.
During 2020 Dirk felt the need to steer the company towards his original passion of horticulture and gardening. Since then he has shifted the company’s focus from landscape construction to garden and property maintenance. This allowed him to expand his business and grow in the profession he loved the most.
